Holiday Beauty and Fish Pedis

Hello!

So, a couple of weeks ago I returned from a weeks holiday in Cyprus with my family and boyfriend.

We stayed in the Cypriot country side in a lovely villa, about 20 minutes away from Protaras.

In almost every hotel or beach-side resort we visited there were beauty stalls, offering a range of treatments, but mostly seemed to be a variety of luxury massages. Gorgeous as they looked, I'm not sure a massage out in the 40 degree heat, exposed to the sun and the public would be my idea of complete relaxation, however, they did seem to be very popular!

Fish Spa Pedicures

I also saw some fish spa pedicures - they were a short-lived but popular craze in the UK last year, but have since been banned, and are banned in many other countries and states across the globe. This is due to the fact that they could lead to spread of both bacterial and fungal infections, as well as HIV!

Although many are sceptical about their benefits, there is no doubt that the Garra Rufa fish do soften and remove the dead, hard skin on the feet, however, you need to have it as a regular treatment to have baby-soft feet.

The fish have been used in the Turkish beauty industry for over 200 years!

They may be controversial in that they can cause different types of infections, however, if they are cleaned properly, the risks are reduced - and those with conditions such as eczema and psoriasis are encouraged to have them as the fish can heal such conditions!

Regardless of what the pros and cons were, I didn't have a go. I am far too ticklish and wouldn't have lasted more than 30 seconds!

Glam Lash in a Flash

Glam lash in a flash is another of my holiday favourites!
I did my training a few months ago to perform this treatment and have done so many since.
They are similar to semi-permanant lashes but is so much quicker. The treatment to have them on takes no longer than half an hour (so much shorter for the 2 hours or so for semi-permenants!) and they are perfect for a holiday, lasting anywhere between 2 and 3 weeks.

They give such a fluttery, girly yet subtle look and mean you can be as low-maintenance as you like on holiday! There is no need so mascara, even for the very fair, as they thicken, lengthen and darken your lashes. I usually do mine with an eyelash tint as well, just to get the maximum impact and benefits.

If you have a special occasion or a holiday coming up I would highly recommend having these done - you can even swim in them!

I will post some of my favourite beauty products for this summer very soon, and only 19 days left until I go travelling so there will be soon be some travel posts too! But until then, here a are few more of my holiday snaps..

In the meantime, let me know what you think of my posts - have you had a fish pedi and what did you think?

Hello!

Hello!
So, this is my first blog, and my first ever blog post!
I'm not really sure how it all works, but hoping I can get to grips with it soon!
Practice makes perfect! But any hints and tips in the meantime will be greatly appreciated!

So, I am a qualified beauty therapist which is a qualification and career path I decided to go down after finishing my A-levels and didn't really want to go to university. I had a place to do geography, but beauty is so much more fun!

I think I was just going to do geography as I loved the idea of being able to travel doing something I love, but why study it in a classroom when beauty therapy allows you to go anywhere and everywhere and allows you to see the real thing - both physical/landscape and human!

In August, I am lucky enough to be going to New Zealand for about a year with my boyfriend - after a short stop in Kuala Lumpa!

The bright lights of Kuala Lumlur!

Is is my gorgeous boyfriend, Tom, who I will be travelling across the world with!

And this is the other most important man in my life - my chug, YumYum!
